Lordship’s Barns provide the perfect opportunity for the family to get together to do something different.  Whether it’s an old-fashioned board game in front of a wood burning stove or exploring our 600 acres of farmland, ancient woods and hedgerows.  Switch off your phones and tablets and go back to basics, enjoying quality family time away from household distractions.

Our three barns cater to all size of family.  The Granary sleeps six and its generous open-plan layout allows everyone their own space.  The Wagon House sleeps four with a generous marble master bathroom and a stunning living area combining contemporary art with original features.  The Vineyard is small but perfectly formed.  There is only one bedroom but this can sleep a family of four on a super kingsize bed and a double day bed.  We can provide travel cots, highchairs and even some toys for the younger members of the family.  

All three luxurious holiday barns are set around a farmyard with a large lawn, perfect for children to play whilst being watched from the comfort of the living room.  Each property also has its own private patio with BBQ overlooking the landscaped grounds which include a children’s play area and lavender patch. 

Take a walk over the fields to picturesque Dane End with its clapboard general store and village pub.  Say hello to our Aberdeen Angus cows as you pass them on the way to our pond where ducks and moorhens nest.  Our ancient woodlands offer plenty of adventure with trees to climb and local wildlife.  Look out for Peter Rabbit’s relatives and Mr Tod!   Older children will enjoy a trip to Harry Potter World or the Roman Baths at St Albans.  

There is family fun for all seasons: bluebell woods in the Springtime; watching the harvest being brought in in the late Summer sun.  Autumn brings blackberries and grape picking in our vineyard.  Winter is magical with wood burning stoves inside and frosty walks to tempt you outside.
